Laurie D. McDermott

Laurie Dobkin McDermott has been with McDermott & Bonenberger, P.L.L.C., since 1990 and focuses her practice in the area of insurance defense, personal injury, and business law. She was recently appointed by the Ohio County Commission as a Fiduciary Commissioner overseeing the proper administration of estates in Ohio County. She has represented the interests of children who have been victimized by abuse and neglect, and the interests of incapacitated adults.

Laurie is a member of the West Virginia Bar Association and Ohio County Bar Association where she served as a two-term Treasurer and as a member of the Ohio County Bar Association Executive Committee. She is also a member of the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Laurie has served on the Wheeling-Ohio County Planning Commission, the Board of Directors of the Wheeling YWCA, and the Board of Trustees at Wheeling Country Day School.

Laurie graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law and is a magna cum laude graduate of Bethany College. She and her husband, Greg, are the parents of two daughters, Morgan and Jackie, and  reside in Wheeling, West Virginia.
